Aura A. Love) It is that time again! Yep it is time to cleanse. Cleansing is very important as each shift of a season. Often the changes are met with cleansing, fasting, and various forms of detoxing. As summer turns into fall, it is time to prepare the body for the colder months. The days are getting shorter and it is often a time that many are indoors breathing the same air, touching the same items, and the immune system is often slowed by heavier foods, sweets, alcohol, stress, and decreased activities. PLUS let us not forget that we are coming off of BBQ season!!! After Labor Day a large portion of people begin to put their grills away. Only die hard grillers grill past this point. Even so, frequent and extended grilling usually indicates the increased consumption of meat. I am not sure if it is the smoke from the fire but, there is something that makes everything taste like "Some more". The desire to have multiple helpings increases. Heavy consumption of meats such as pork, beef, and seafood (especially eaten raw or rare) will increase the likelihood of parasites. Parasite problems can be overlooked by regular medical investigation that no one can accurately estimate how much of the population may be afflicted. Present estimates range from 25-80% for Americans. Parasites are known to enter the body in a number of ways such as: contaminated drinking water, food (as mentioned before), your pets, your loved ones—or anyone you kiss, also from shaking hands (frequent hand washing is an easy prevention method), open wounds, by getting on hands and being transferred to the mouth or nose, or through the skin of the feet. Wind is a possible factor that could make earthbound microscopic organisms airborne. Depending on the type of parasite, symptoms usually vary but will generally include nervousness; grinding teeth while sleeping (especially children), various aches and pains that may move from place to place, mimicked appendicitis, ulcers and various digestive pain, nausea or diarrhea. Picking the nose, itching, acne, foul breath, appetite sometimes voracious and at other times poor, itching anus, anemia, liver jaundice, wide mood swings, fatigue, menstrual irregularities, fever, colitis and insomnia can occur. The Main Signs of Parasite Infestation Chronic Fatigue, Digestive problems, always getting sick, food sensitivities and environmental intolerance, allergic reactions, inflammation, joint and muscle pains, iron deficiency, rashes, itchy skin…the list goes on and on… The GREAT NEWS is that there is something that each of us can do to reduce our chances of infestation. Eat plenty of Fiber to help the digestive system remove toxins, including dead and dying parasites, from the body more ease. NO Sugar or anything that turns into sugar should be consumed for a period of 21 day. Sugar cravings are due to the remaining parasite eggs hatching and seeking food. Parasite Resistant Foods: Probiotics and fermented foods help to restore and maintain good bacteria that will keep the bad bacteria at bay. Spice it up with turmeric, nutmeg, horseradish, cloves, cinnamon, chilies, cayenne, cardamom, and others keep parasites away. Herbs such as Wormwood, Cloves, and Black Walnut hull is a well known blend to kill hundreds of type of parasites in all three developmental stages Pumpkin Seeds (Raw) traditionally is used as an anthelmintic which is a substance that helps expel intestinal parasites. Pumpkin seeds also contain high levels of compounds known as cucurbitins that paralyze the worms and prevent them from holding on to the intestinal walls, as they usually do during a bowel movement. Coconut oil or dried coconut (even better) has an abundance of Medium Chain Fatty Acids (MCFA) that protects you from parasites. MCFAs are known to fight to eliminate bacteria, viruses and fungi, pretty much in as they are in combating parasites. Apple Cider Vinegar can have a beneficial effect in eliminating parasites because it helps to lower the pH balance of your body while increasing the stomach acids with Apple Cider Vinegar prior to our meals will keep the stomach free of parasites and will also kill off any larvae inadvertently eaten with meals. Raw Carrots (juiced) kills parasites and alkalizes the body, detoxes the blood and makes an antiparasitic food. Raw Garlic is most effective against roundworms, threadworms or pinworms. It is a popular, easy, available and effective component in parasite cleansing treatments. |
